Our School includes two campuses located in the historic district of Duluth, Georgia, where children learn inside and outside on 11 acres of woodlands and rolling hills, flower and vegetable gardens, a soccer field, nature trail, and play areas.
Children are a part of nature and nature is a part of them. As a part of all programs in the Montessori philosophy a key piece of learning stems from the world outside the walls of the classroom.
The AMI Toddler Community provides a beautiful environment designed for children from 14 to 30 months of age. Practical life skills, including toileting, are learned in a peaceful, home-like setting.
The first plane of development occurs from birth to age six. The child is our guide as we prepare an environment, which contains all the essential elements for his development.
Having absorbed a huge amount of data, the elementary age child is now ready and interested in the whys and wherefores of things, in the past and future, and in other cultures and planets. Montessori’s curriculum takes advantage of the second plane child’s tremendous intellectual interest and capacity.
The Montessori Adolescent Program, for the 12-15 year old, is built on the foundations of the elementary. The Montessori adolescent program is the culmination of the child’s experience as a Montessori student.
