The Duluth Montessori School is a private school serving metro Atlanta. Established over 35 years ago, the School is fully accredited by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the organization established to protect and maintain the integrity of the Montessori principles. We educate children ages 2 1/2 to 12 years of age.

Our School includes two campuses located in the historic district of Duluth, Georgia, where children learn inside and outside on 11 acres of woodlands and rolling hills, flower and vegetable gardens, a soccer field, nature trail, and play areas.

Our spacious, sunny classrooms follow the “prepared environment” philosophy of Dr. Montessori, so that children can freely follow their natural industry and drive to learn, guided by AMI-certified teachers. In this environment, children learn at their own pace and develop concentration as well as self-discipline. Like flowers, they grow in their own time.

We welcome inquiring parents to visit our campuses and observe one of our classes firsthand. There’s nothing quite like it. You’ll see children of varying ages working together. You’ll see children concentrating on their own tasks, even though there’s activity around them. You’ll see children working independently, cleaning up their messes, handling materials with care, and putting their work away as they finish. You’ll see sharing, collaborating, helping, learning, and growing.

THE AMI DIFFERENCE
The Duluth Montessori School is fully accredited by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929.

Although other organizations have adopted the Montessori name, only AMI was actually founded and led by Dr. Montessori.

As an AMI-accredited institution, The Duluth Montessori School follows the educational principles formulated by Dr. Montessori herself.
